The Journeyman Wireman classification is only granted to electricians who have the skills it takes to install a project and lead others to get the job done. In addition, Foreman, General Foreman, and other top level classifications are spelled out in writing to ensure IBEW members get the most from their careers.

Not a Journeyman? Men and women with a range of skills can finish their education with the IBEW. Get classified by providing documented proof of electrical construction experience and/or take a skills aptitude test and we can benchmark your skills against nationwide standards.
HOW DO YOUR SKILLS STACK UP?
Electricians in the IBEW have negotiated minimum wage rates for all skill levels so it is important to get classified. Do this by providing documented proof of electrical construction experience and/or take a skills aptitude test and we can benchmark your skills against nationwide standards.
